Just up from the Central Station Hotel in the South Main Arts District is Dvour Desserts, an arty stark modern space with coffee, cookies and cheesecake-based desserts. The space gives off gallery vibes, with a mainly black-and-white interior which ends up highlighting the bright and attractive colors of the various cheesecake flavors, which almost resemble edible jewels.
While I did not try a cheesecake dessert, I did try one of the extra-large cookies, a chocolate chip, and it proved to be stuffed, with some sort of cream cheese filling. It was absolutely decadent, and amazingly good, although almost too much after the gelato I had had earlier down the block. The owner was so nice that he asked me what other flavor of cookie interested me, and he gave me a double chocolate cookie at no extra charge. When I tried it on the following evening, it also had the cream cheese filling, and was amazingly good, even a day later.
Dvour is an upscale dessert bar, and it meets a need in the South Main area. It is definitely worth a visit.
