Memphis blues/soul artist Richard Givhan was the father of Memphis Jazz Trio pianist Alvie Givhan, who plays weekends with Renardo Ward at Kings Palace on Beale Street. Philwood was one of several labels owned and operated by Select-O-Hits in Memphis in the early 1970’s.
