San Diego indie band The Donkeys on Dead Ocean Records opened up last night’s live music at the venerable Hi-Tone in midtown Memphis, and their style exhibited a rootsy, soul-influenced vibe that sounded more Memphis than California. Altogether, an impressive set of tuneful music.
