Never thought about going to Arkansas before…

One, Arkansas is in my top three list of favorite states. Two, I really wish I could go to this! But alas, a new job and no time off and no money besides prevents it. SIGH.

Yo Gotti will be taking Memphis rap to the world this summer! #MemphisRising

Dear Memphis Music Lovers,

Spend a few short minutes watching this amazing video of Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham performing a song Penn composed with Chips Moman during a 30-minute poker game break in a hotel room in Memphis back in ā€˜66. Although it became a Top 10 single for James Carr in ā€˜67, NOTHING compares to these two legends playing it together acoustically. Every genre of American music can be found in this astonishing and soulful rendition of The Dark End Of The Street.

Sincerely,

Memphis Jones
