My last destination of the evening was a club called The Avenue on Congress, whose rooftop has been the scene of many a rap showcase during South By Southwest. On this particular night, it ended with veteran Memphis rapper DJ Paul performing a dynamic and entertaining set which included his biggest and best-loved hit songs. Paul has been busy of late, releasing his own barbecue dry rub (more about that here), and putting together an all-star Three-6 Mafia reunion group called Da Mafia 6ix, who recently released their debut album 6ix Commandments and who are currently on tour. 6ix Commandments can be purchased on iTunes here.
