In Memphis, you can come upon block parties and special events randomly if you drive through the neighborhoods. This one in Orange Mound was sponsored by Orange Mound Outreach Ministries and featured barbecue and performances from gospel rappers. No soon had the musicians set up the drumset and other instruments, however, than the rain came down in earnest. Still, I had fun.Â
