SWAC Football, 2012
Fall means football, and the brand of football played in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is as exciting as any football played. Perhaps more so, because in the Black college football tradition, the bands and majorettes are just as important as the athletes. Particularly enjoyable is the after-game band battle known as “The Fifth Quarter.”
I decided to drive down to Jackson, MS yesterday for my first SWAC football game of the year, Jackson State vs. Southern, and before the game, I stopped at Another Broken Egg at the Renaissance in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Another Broken Egg restaurants are located in a number of cities in the southeast, and they feature a great menu of breakfast and brunch options at reasonable prices.
