JJ DOOM “Guv’nor”
Finally checked out DOOM’s new album with Jneiro Jarel, Keys to the Kuffs. I found the album on Spotify, and after one listen I’m diggin it. I find it interesting he features Brother Bobby Hemmitt lectures on it. I’m actually not familiar with Jeneiro Jarel, so I’ll be looking up his other work tonight. I’ll have to see if I can buy it at CD Source or Good Records later today.
Anything with Doom is worth hearing.

Up-and-coming Memphis rapper Tune C, 9/2/12
The National Ornamental Metal Museum is a Memphis treasure that is all-too-neglected by local residents. With its lovely setting high on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, the museum is an attractive place to walk and catch one-of-a-kind glimpses of the river. The buildings, originally part of a US Naval Station, are also historic and attractive. But the metal artwork is the real attraction of the museum, with unique pieces displayed all over the beautifully-landscaped grounds. Also, unlike most other museums, visitors can watch artisans at work and see how ornamental metalworks are created. With its elaborate architecture (including a domed cupola) and its amazing river view, it would make a wonderful luxury resort, all the more so as it sits directly beside the National Ornamental Metal Museum. Supposedly, the owner intended it to become condominiums before the 2008 recession, but a luxury hotel would seem to be a better option, particularly since Memphis has a glut of vacant downtown condominiums.
