Live music is not as common in Tipton County, Tennessee as it should be, but the opening of 797 Distillery gives reason to hope that things might be changing for the better. While the distillery sells a variety of vodka, rum and moonshine, its beautiful outdoor stage and patio can hold hundreds, and in nice weather is a comfortable place to enjoy a band, a drink or two, and food from local food trucks.
On my first visit, the Fayette County band Generations was playing, and despite the rather chilly weather, a good number of people attended. While food and drinks cost, and it is always a good idea to tip the band, admission to the distillery when live music is going on is free of charge. It is definitely worth visiting whenever you are in Covington.
