The Berlin Coffeehouse and Fingerprints Records share a building on 4th Street in Long Beach, just east of the downtown area. The record store is really cool, with plenty of rare vinyl and used compact discs, as well as some imports and new releases, particularly from obscure labels.
It was 5 PM when I arrived back in Long Beach from Catalina Island, and my stepbrother and his family had driven down from the San Bernardino area to meet me for dinner at Long Beach, so we ate at the Yard House and walked around Shoreline Village. November 22, 2011

Just a short walk from downtown Avalon past the Casino is a hidden cove called Descanso Beach, a beautiful, secluded spot that is worth the walk. Although the Descanso Beach Club restuarant closes for the winter, the beach, bar and gift shop remain open. Catalina Island, November 22, 2011
