Try saying “Breakfast at Brigs in Ballantyne” three times fast! But seriously, Brigs restaurant in Ballantyne is the Charlotte branch of a small chain of restaurants in the Triangle area of North Carolina that have a well-deserved reputation for good food and service. There’s little out of the ordinary here, as it’s mostly breakfast fare, but there are sandwiches and burgers as well, as Brigs stays open until 2 PM. There are also a couple of more unusual items, including the classic African-American chicken-and-waffles combo, which on Brigs’ menu is listed as a “southern specialty.” Service is good although massive crowds seem to be the rule on weekends. Prices are also reasonable, but the place is small, so you can probably expect something of a wait on Saturday or Sunday. If you can’t visit them in person, visit them at http://www.brigs.com/.
