Classic Memphis Gospel With The Sensational Six
The Sensational Six are one of Memphis’ veteran gospel groups. During their 40-year career, they have recorded for many local Memphis labels, including Philwood (a subsidiary of Select-O-Hits), Designer, Messenger and others. Their performance at the Center for Southern Folklore Saturday during the Memphis Music and Heritage Festival was a real-life demonstration of the close relationship of gospel to soul music.

The Memphis Music and Heritage Festival is a 26-year-old free music festival held each year on the Main Street Mall in downtown Memphis. Sponsored by the non-profit Center for Southern Folklore, the event offers four stages of local Memphis music and a fifth stage for regional cooking demonstrations. Various vendors display regional folk art, and there is plenty of food and drink from vendors and nearby restaurants.
