While in Dallas, I got a chance to tour the headquarters of Music Access, the only music one-stop still functioning in the South. Their attractive building (complete with courtyard and barbecue grill) is in the process of being enlarged and remodeled. This year’s MidAtlantic Music Conference (@MidatlMusic) in Charlotte was held in conjunction with the two-day NoDa Music Festival at the Chop Shop in Charlotte’s artsy NoDa neighborhood. Three stages featured indie rock, funk, rap, soul and gospel showcases at night, and informative music industry panels, interviews and speeches during the day. The event was organized by the folks at @wholeteam in Atlanta.
