The Catalina Express is a boat service of fairly fast catamarans, which run a regular schedule from Long Beach to the town of Avalon on Catalina Island, 26 miles away. The journey takes about an hour.
I was in Long Beach to grab a quick breakfast and catch the boat out to Catalina Island. The Omelette Inn on Pine Avenue proved to be the best place to grab a breakfast before my boat ride. Nearly empty when I arrived, it filled up very quickly, and not surprisingly, since they have great breakfasts at reasonable prices.
