The new album from Memphis veteran Lil Wyte is called “Still Doubted”, and it comes out June 19, 2012 via WyteMusic/Select-O-Hits. With features from Pastor Troy, Bubba Sparxxx, Project Pat and Frayser Boy, this album has something for everyone.

In Memphis, you can come upon block parties and special events randomly if you drive through the neighborhoods. This one in Orange Mound was sponsored by Orange Mound Outreach Ministries and featured barbecue and performances from gospel rappers. No soon had the musicians set up the drumset and other instruments, however, than the rain came down in earnest. Still, I had fun.

Wiz Kalifa had the final performance at the Beale Street Music Festival this year, and he brought Juicy J onto the stage with him to do a couple of songs, including the classic Memphis rap anthem “Slob On My Knob.” As they performed, lightning and thunder began to approach the festival from across the river.
