With Southern’s band at home, the Marching Maroon and White of Alabama A & M was the only band playing Saturday, and they managed to keep the crowd hyped throughout the game, Huntsville AL, 11/03/12
On Saturday November 3, 2012 I drove down to Huntsville, Alabama to see the Alabama A & M/Southern University game. It was warm, and a perfect day for football, but unfortunately, Southern didn’t bring their famous Human Jukebox band with them, so there was no band battle.

On Tuesday October 30, 2012, the Memphis Rock and Soul Museum (a Smithsonian institution) held a reception to honor the Memphis Horns at the opening of the Horn of Plenty exhibit in the museum. Sadly, Andrew Love passed away in April, but his family members were present, and Wayne Jackson was present. John Hornyak of the Memphis Recording Academy chapter and Memphis Mayor A. C. Wharton spoke. This was the most recent event in a year that has seen a flurry of belated honors for Memphis musicians.Â
