#086 Under the Bridge with the TBC Brass Band (by John Shaw)
The TBC Brass Band and the Dumaine Street Gang head under the I-10 bridge and along Claiborne Avenue, 12/02/12
When the overhead bridge of I-10 was erected above Claiborne Avenue in the late 1960’s, it split the Treme in two and devastated the Black business district that had once been centered on Claiborne. But the location still has significance for downtown New Orleans, and on a Sunday where there is a downtown second-line, a massive crowd gathers under the bridge. Some people bring lawn chairs and even barbecue grills, partying and waiting for the arrival of the second-line, 12/02/12

The TBC Brass Band gets the Dumaine Street Gang second-line up and moving again at Bocat’s Lounge, New Orleans, 12/02/12
Taking a break at Bocat’s Lounge in the Seventh Ward, where a large crowd gathered. The stops along second-line routes give the paraders and band members a chance to rest or eat and drink, and also give other social aid and pleasure clubs a chance to host and salute the club that is parading, New Orleans, 12/02/12
