Television shows used to make El Segundo the butt of jokes, perhaps because of the massive Chevron refinery that sits beside the town, but the downtown is actually rather charming, with a typical small-town look and feel. On my last morning in California, my iPhone led me to El Segundo to a burger joint called Good Stuff. But rather than burgers, I went for the breakfast, which was both the best and least expensive breakfast I had on my trip. November 25, 2011

The Original Market Diner is a small, non-descript place on Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas, but the breakfasts here are outstanding, and the prices reasonable.
Babs is a jewel of a brunch cafe, tucked away on Jupiter Street in Midtown Atlanta and easy to miss. But you shouldn’t miss it, because the breakfast is outstanding, and the coffee, a brand called Torrie from Italy, is truly amazing.

The Seahorse Restaurant in Pass-A-Grille is only open for breakfast and lunch, but what a fabulous place! The food is outstanding, but so is the view, as the restaurant sits directly across from the bay, and while you won’t see any seahorses, you will see plenty of pelicans.
