The Mississippi Delta has a reputation for the unexpected, and Yazoo Pass is definitely the unexpected- a swank, hip coffee bar in downtown Clarksdale, Mississippi. With its sleek, modern interior, and soft jazz music playing in the background, Yazoo Pass wouldn’t be out of place in Fort Lauderdale or San Diego, but on a cold night like last night, its warmth and great espresso drinks were a welcome comfort. From almost the beginning, Yazoo Pass has offered salads and sandwiches for lunch, but they now have a fairly extensive dinner menu as well. They also have frozen yogurt, and are the only place in Clarksdale that does, so Yazoo Pass is a mandatory destination during Juke Joint Festival. Yazoo Pass is located at 207 Yazoo Avenue in Clarksdale, just steps away from Bluesberry Cafe and within walking distance of Ground Zero, Cat Head and the Delta Music Museum.
