Hearing blues on Beale Street is rare enough, and hearing Hill Country blues is almost unheard of, so when I heard somebody playing the North Mississippi blues style in front of the New Daisy Theatre on the Fourth of July, I had to stop and see who it was. He turned out to be a blues musician named Owen Money, who apparently had only recently come to Memphis and was pretty much a one-man band. However, he was joined by a Memphis musician named Aaron Cunningham, who said he has been playing on Beale Street for 50 years.
