Thunderbird Coffee is a local chain of Austin coffeehouses that I had noticed on previous visits, but had never tried. With two locations, one on Koenig Lane and the other on Manor Road, Thunderbird is convenient to most residents and visitors north of Lady Bird Lake. Most Austin coffee bars are good, and Thunderbird is no exception. The Koenig location is open until 11 PM, and provides a reasonably quiet place to power up your laptop and get creative while enjoying a latte or cappuccino. It also has in inviting patio that would have drawn me in had it not been so chilly on the evening I was there.
