I had intended to try one of the Kerbey Lane Cafes for breakfast, and assuming that most of them would be crowded due to SXSW, I drove out 183 to the Lakeline Mall area thinking that the location that far out would be less crowded. What I didn’t know was that Cedar Park was near the Rodeo Austin event, so the Kerbey Lane Cafe there was on a 2 hour wait for a table. The Egg and I location in the next block of 183, and when I got up there, they weren’t nearly as crowded. And although The Egg and I is a chain, I had eaten at a location in Dallas, and knew it to be good. I had my usual choice, a bacon-and-cheese omelette, and it was quite good, as was the freshly=brewed coffee. The Egg and I has another location in the Austin area also, on Anderson Lane near the MoPac Expressway.
