Africa in April is held every year in Memphis’ Church Park just outside the Beale Street Historic District. It is a festival of vendors, food and live music celebrating a different African nation each year. 4/21/12

Saturday was a busy day in Memphis. In addition to Africa in April, Earth Day, the Hot Wing Festival and the Band Battle at Halle Stadium, the classic Corvettes were on Beale Street all day. 4/21/12

Rain disrupted the first day of Africa in April in downtown Memphis on Friday April 20, but there was still a small crowd in Handy Park listening to the usual blues band.
