Taboo Nation Live at the Tate Street Block Party 2012

Taboo Nation was the final act to appear on stage at the Tate Street Block Party, and they brought a degree of crunkness and enthusiasm with them, but unfortunately, the lateness of the day and a series of confrontations in the crowd had caused the fans to begin to disperse. A final scuffle sent a crowd of teenagers walking, then running west down Tate Street toward the former Cleaborn Homes, where they gathered in the parking lot of a church. Thankfully, there were no further incidents. It was all the more sad, and ironic, that the Tate Street Block Party was explicitly promoted as a “Stop The Violence” event.

@YoungDolph is one of the most popular rap artists in Memphis right now, and as such was the headliner for the Tate Street Block Party. Unfortunately, as he was coming on stage, scuffles had broken out in the crowd, and only with some effort was  attention redirected to the stage.Â
