The World Championship Bar-B-Que Festival is an important part of the annual  Memphis In May celebration. Contestants come from all over the world, and Tom Lee Park resembles a small city, with contestants building shelters, some of them two stories tall. This year, with The Phillipines as the honored country of Memphis In May, many of the shelters had a tropical theme.

Bright, brilliant tigers continue to turn up all around Memphis. I assume that tigers were chosen because it is the mascot of the University of Memphis, but what a cool way to symbolize Memphis as a city. This particular tiger sits behind the new University of Memphis Law School on the bluff between Front Street and Riverside Drive.
