SXSW
Hopdoddy’s Burger Bar was the best of the new burger bistros that I tried while I was in Austin for SXSW. The buns are freshly baked, the beef ground on the premises and cooked to order. Visit them at http://www.hopdoddy.com/

Yard Dog Folk Art is an amazing gallery on South Congress in Austin that has an amazing array of paintings and other art works, including some by the noted Memphis musician and artist Lamar Sorrento (AKA Eddie Campbell). They also sponsor a SXSW stage in their courtyard, featuring a number of roots and Americana groups, such as the band Tender Mercies, which was playing when I entered. March 17, 2012.
